About

Fernando Gascón Inchausti has been Full Professor of Procedural Law since 2016. Since June 2020, he has served as Director of the Doctoral School.

His academic career has been closely linked to the Complutense University, where he obtained both his law degree and his PhD, and where he has also developed his teaching and research activities to this day. His main research interests include Civil Procedural Law, Criminal Procedural Law, European Procedural Law, and Comparative Procedural Law.

In these fields, he is the author of numerous publications: sixteen books as sole author, three books co-authored with others, more than one hundred book chapters, and over sixty articles published in academic journals. He has also served as editor or co-editor of ten collective works. These topics have likewise been the focus of the various national and European research projects he has directed or in which he has participated.

He is a Permanent Member of the Procedural Law Section of the General Codification Commission. Since 2016, he has served as Executive Secretary General of the International Association of Procedural Law, and since 2018 he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Professors of Procedural Law of Spanish Universities. Since 2020, he has been co-editor of the International Journal of Procedural Law, a journal he helped establish as Managing Editorial Secretary starting in 2010.
